Perseverance...

per·se·ver·ance   /pɜrsəˈvɪərəns/ noun

1. steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

I had to look this word up to make sure I was spelling it right...thank God for the internet.

It has been an incredibly hard month for our family, so my creative juices dried up about a 3 weeks ago. Family drama usually equals me not writing or playing my guitar until the drama goes away. But sometimes it is nice to take a break from the constant stream of lyrics and melodies running through my head. At least there has been some peace in my thoughts; almost like somebody turned the radio station off in my head.

Life is good and some wonderful things are happening in spite of the drama that was thrust upon us. My songplugger is getting two of my songs into some very famous hands. Hopefully this will lead to a cut in early 2012.

Just gotta keep going and keep trying. Don't use family drama or crisis as an excuse to stay where you are. Whatever obstacles come your way...sidestep them and keep going. Persevere!!!

Peace and joy,

Phil

Quote of the year...

“Be not the judges of men, but love your brothers and sisters, and find ways to reach out to them in common goals and aspirations. Where there is love in common, the divisions of creed will melt away and reveal the true nature of man’s eternal destiny -- one of unity in purpose, to be perfect as the Father is perfect."
